About Mackenzie
I have over 9 years of experience teaching violin and a Bachelor of Science in Orchestral Studies, where I led the violin section. I help students refine their technique while expressing their personal style. Lessons use technology like slow-down apps, DAWs, MIDI notation, and video feedback to improve playing. Recording original pieces or covers is a focus of my teaching. I am passionate about Jazz Violin, Rock Strings, and Indie Folk. Improvisation and custom backing tracks make practice engaging and creative. Lessons are interactive, goal-oriented, and tailored to each student. I emphasize tone, phrasing, and musical storytelling. Students gain skills for recording, live performance, and composing.
