About Aparna

I’m an architect-turned-designer with 8 years of experience across graphic design, illustration, textiles, and UX/UI. My multidisciplinary background helps me connect art with real-world design thinking. Now a new mum, I bring empathy and curiosity to everything I teach—because design, to me, is not just a skill but a way of seeing and shaping a more beautiful, meaningful life.

About the lesson

With 8 years of experience in art and design, I teach the universal fundamentals that shape every creative field. My sessions are hands-on, practical, and focused on helping you build strong foundations while creating real artworks and projects along the way.
Whether you’re a beginner exploring your creativity or an advanced learner polishing your portfolio, I offer personalised lessons in:
*Drawing with confidence and accuracy
️ *Mastering different mediums — watercolour, acrylic, ink, pastels, and charcoal
*Fundamentals of design and composition
️ *Portfolio guidance and creative reviews
Each session blends technique with creative thinking, helping you express your ideas visually and grow as an artist at your own pace.

Aparna's response
Helen was an absolute pleasure to teach. She shared her art journey and goals with great clarity and enthusiasm, and was very open to trying out the small exercises we did together. I really enjoyed our session and look forward to seeing her grow in her art journey!

Aparna has a very intuitive way of teaching abstract concepts that I like. She asked me where I was with my art and then went on to create a detailed lesson plan that addressed my learning needs. Also she is very easy to talk to and makes our lessons engaging throughout with creative exercises.

I recently took Art and Design lessons with Aparna on Superprof, and it has been an incredible experience! Aparna is not just a talented artist but also a very patient and encouraging teacher. She explains concepts clearly and always makes sure I understand the techniques before moving on.

Her classes are creative, well-structured, and inspiring — whether it’s sketching, painting, or exploring design ideas, she helps you bring your imagination to life. What I loved most is how she tailors each session to my skill level and interests, which made learning so enjoyable and personal.

Aparna’s passion for art is truly contagious. Thanks to her, I’ve gained a lot more confidence in my artistic abilities and discovered a new way to express myself. I’d highly recommend her classes to anyone looking to learn or improve their art and design skills!
