About Callie
Teaching adults and teens provides a unique window into the music that shapes their actual lives. Honestly, watching self-taught players struggle with gaps in their foundation is what drives me to offer better structure. My BFA in Contemporary Music Performance from USC Thornton informs how I break down complex ideas.
With 12 years of experience, I emphasize JAZZ HARMONY and modal thinking as the core of my teaching philosophy. I treat piano, rhythm, and theory as one integrated skill set for the modern musician. I truly enjoy seeing my students finally connect the dots between what they hear and what they play.

Picture yourself struggling with a chord voicing that feels impossible until we isolate the rhythm and timing together. Pacing is handled by setting clear, achievable milestones for your ear training and sight playing goals.
We move through ABRSM or Trinity grade exam prep with a focus on practical technique. I want you to feel confident using your new pedalling technique and memorisation skills in your daily practice.
Because I value your time, I offer a free trial lesson to map out goals before we start our first session. These structured meetings will help you navigate jazz improvisation or classical repertoire with ease. Expect honest feedback on your accompaniment skills during every single meeting. It is satisfying to see the progress you make when you have a clear roadmap to follow.
