• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  Piano has been my companion ever since I was 7. It was my special place where I felt calm and serene, where I could say more in music than I could ever in words. Naturally, I wanted to share this special place with others, because I believed that anyone of any age could find enjoyment in music they play or create. With proper patience, discipline, and guidance, they could find themselves a new passion, a cool hobby, or an awesome piece to show their friends and family.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  My main enjoyment in piano comes from the absolute satisfaction I get when I succeed in playing my favorite songs. When I watch TV, I would come across a song that I particularly love, and I would think "Man, wouldn't it be cool if I could do that!". And so I would practice for hours on end, driven by the beautiful melody that I slowly produce as it takes shape and resembles exactly what I heard on the TV. Sometimes the song I aim to play is easily within my abilities, but oftentimes it is above anything I've ever done. The thrill of the challenge pushes me forward to practice that difficult move with the fingers, or that sudden jump of the hand, until it's perfected. I still make mistakes during my practices, and that's okay. I learnt to not be bothered by them and continue playing. I personally feel that this was one of my biggest accomplishments in learning piano because it drove away the fear of performing well, and replaced it with pure enjoyment.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  I love sharing the joy of piano with others and helping them discover their own musical abilities. Witnessing my students progress and achieve their musical goals brings me immense satisfaction. As a "Superprof," I am dedicated to making each lesson engaging and tailored to the individual learning styles of my students, ensuring they not only learn but also enjoy the process.

• Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

  My parents are musicians who taught me everything there is to know about piano. My father especially was very patient and encouraging, which helped make the learning process enjoyable and productive.

• What are your keys to success?

  - Persistence: to practice consistently and strive for improvement, even when facing challenging pieces or techniques.
  
  - Humility: to acknowledge areas for improvement and seek guidance from experienced musicians or teachers.
  
  - Autonomy: to develop independence in practice and interpretation, while also being receptive to feedback and new learning opportunities.
