About Torin
My B.s. is in Microbiology at Colorado State University. I'm going to be graduating in December from the program and continuing on at CSU to get an M.s. in Journalism.
Science Communication is a field very important to me. I love jobs that allow me to help teach, inform, or promote STEM topics.
Apart from being a tutor, I also work in a social sciences' lab working on a study about science communication and microbes/microbiomes.
Outside my undergrad, I enjoy thrifting, kayaking, and petting dogs. I also like to paint or sculpt something when I have the energy.

My sessions are typically for undergrads taking introductory biochemistry courses.
I have tutored the students at Colorado State University in the Introduction to Biochemistry (BC351) course, mainly during my time as a tutor. But, I have also spent time tutoring in Microbiology courses as well.
My sessions:
First, I'll ask for the information you need clarified and work to create a personalized PowerPoint you'll receive.
Then we go over it together, giving you the opportunity to ask questions.
I also give out personalized tips and tricks for studying if needed based on learning style or what has worked best for me. This can be a separate session if needed. Don't hesitate to ask!
If I don't know something or am fuzzy on the particulars, then I'll help you figure it out. I know what to look for, and Google is an amazing resource. We can muck through it together!

Details
My prices are based on the pay I received as a tutor in my job at Colorado State University, as well as my experience level and number of students I've tutored.
The first session is free and includes an option of 30 minutes of teaching, but the first 30 minutes will be used to go over goals, current performance, relevant information, and current modes of study.
