About Cassidy
Music instruction is rarely about the notes on the page, but rather about the silence between them. My training at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University with an MMus in piano provided a foundation that I now share with returning learners and teens. Developing hand independence alongside sophisticated music theory allows students to grasp the mechanics of their instrument.
Advanced learners often discover that sight transposition and complex ear training are the true keys to musical maturity. After living in Sherbrooke and moving to the US, I found that teaching piano is the best way to connect different cultures. What musical goals are you working toward currently?

Practice is often the most misunderstood part of piano study. Weekly practice modules assigned with every class provide the necessary structure for 6 years of technical development. Dynamics and expression are prioritized alongside sight reading and sight playing.
We focus on the nuance of sound production. Advanced students appreciate the analytical approach to repertoire. Returning learners find that systematic technique repairs old habits. It is quite simple to begin today.
