About Lea
Graduating with a BMus from Rice University Shepherd School provided the technical foundation for my 12 years of teaching. Working with neurodivergent students requires a specific sensitivity to how different brains process music theory and tone production. Tuning by ear and ear training are essential parts of my practice for students who struggle with standard notation.
My instruction covers posture and hold plus sight reading for those needing extra structure. I help learners navigate shifting positions and double stops through clear explanations. Scales and arpeggios develop left hand agility for everyone I coach. The approach remains steady throughout the process.

Setting the practice plan starts with a diagnostic assessment to identify your current hurdles. Adjusting the pace allows me to provide feedback that actually lands during our time together.
My 12 years in symphony and chamber work informs the way I break down complex mechanics into manageable segments. This technical sharpness ensures that neurodivergent students feel supported rather than overwhelmed during the session. Focusing on your unique rhythm helps us resolve challenges in real time.
We incorporate sensory awareness to refine your sound. Progress will build toward your specific violin goal.
