About Mehar
I am a guitar tutor with 12 years of teaching experience, combined with active performance in jazz clubs, rock venues, and music festivals. I hold an Associate Degree in Guitar Performance, which provides a solid foundation for my teaching and playing. My lessons are deeply influenced by real-world experience, helping students develop skills in improvisation, stage presence, and building their unique musical identity. I focus on guiding aspiring performers and gigging musicians to prepare confidently for live shows. Whether you want to master jazz solos, rock riffs, or original compositions, I tailor lessons to fit your goals. My approach blends technical skill with creative expression, encouraging students to find their own voice on the guitar. I believe that playing music is as much about feeling as it is about technique. Together, we work on making your performances authentic and engaging. I also offer mentorship on navigating the music scene and building confidence on stage. My teaching approach combines practical guitar skills with a deep understanding of music history, genre roots, and cultural influences. I believe that knowing where music comes from helps students play with more feeling and purpose. We explore how traditional styles shape modern guitar playing, from blues to worship music and beyond. I focus on building strong technique while encouraging creativity and personal expression. Lessons include learning chords, scales, and fingerpicking patterns, alongside the stories behind the music. This approach helps students connect with the guitar on a deeper level. I work closely with students who want to master soulful blues riffs or lead worship with confidence and heart. We practise rhythm, tone, and dynamics to bring out their unique style. I also introduce concepts like improvisation and song arrangement to expand their skills. Throughout, I emphasise patience, steady progress, and enjoying the journey. My goal is to help each student grow technically and musically while feeling inspired every step of the way. Whether you’re starting out or advancing, my lessons will support your passion and goals with care and knowledge.
