About Donald
Folks at open mics kept asking how I managed those tricky chord transitions, so I started sharing my process. It was a simple realization that led to 13 years of dedicated teaching.
My guitar playing is deeply rooted in the American South and Southwest traditions of Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt. I have taught 234 students ranging from curious kids to advanced performers. Helping hobbyists find their sound is my primary focus. You will find that I stay honest about the work required to play well.
My hands-on approach keeps things grounded and simple. Guitar is a lifelong companion that deserves respect and attention. I am always happy to talk gear. Let us pick some tunes together soon.

Pacing involves watching your hands struggle with a specific barre chord until the tension releases naturally. I evaluate your progress instantly so we avoid building bad habits during our practice. Because I have spent 13 years in small venues, I know exactly how fingerpicking should feel under pressure. My method includes teaching you to read sheet music and tabs while maintaining your instrument properly.
Advanced learners often appreciate how we turn complex song requests into simplified arrangements. Teenagers find that scaling modes becomes far less daunting with my direct guidance. I focus heavily on acoustic technique and lead guitar improvisation. You will gain a solid foundation in scales and chord transitions through constant repetition.
Music should be played with grit and truth. I aim to keep our time focused on the sounds you want to create.
