About Yue
With a Master’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of Sheffield and over 8 years of bilingual teaching experience, I am passionate about helping children grow through music. As a Montessori educator based in New York, I specialize in nurturing confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning. Having taught students from diverse cultural backgrounds, I deeply value inclusivity and individualized guidance. My students are supported with patience, encouragement, and a deep respect for their unique potential. I believe in strong communication with families and continue to grow professionally through ongoing study in child psychology and music education. I offer both in-person and online lessons to meet each family’s needs with flexibility and care.

My teaching approach combines classical piano training with child-centered Montessori principles to foster confidence, creativity, and long-term musical growth.
With over 20 years of piano experience and 8 years of bilingual (English and Mandarin) teaching, I focus not only on technical development but also on cultivating a love for music and learning. My lessons are structured yet flexible—each one tailored to the child’s pace, personality, and goals.
- A typical lesson includes:
- Warm-ups and technique building
- Repertoire practice (classical or exam pieces)
- Ear training and rhythm games
- Music theory made fun and accessible
- A positive reflection and goal-setting time
As a Montessori-trained educator with a background in child psychology, I specialize in working with young learners aged 4–12. I guide them through piano grade exam preparation (ABRSM, Trinity, etc.) while helping them develop self-discipline, focus, and a strong sense of musical joy.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect deeply with children, creating a nurturing and motivating environment where they feel safe to explore, make mistakes, and grow.
