About Sophia
Hello! I am an avid reader and writer who is currently working on my debut young adult novel. I recently graduated from Binghamton University this spring, and studied a wide range of literature while honing my skills as a writer and reader. I hope to use my experience in college to help current students, especially those taking summer courses, working on their college essay or personal statement. I am judgement-free and really care about making my students feel comfortable, confident, and proud as I help them along in their academic career.

My approach to teaching is very personal and individualized to best meet the needs of the student I am working with. I keep a positive and enthusiastic attitude while helping my students develop critical writing and reading skills. These include analyzing textual evidence, crafting a thesis statement, organizing their thoughts, and utilizing proper citations. I typically instruct high school and college students. I am a great resource for students who need help with writing their college entrance essay, and work with students at every stage of the writing process.
