About Shane

Shane’s career spans major public infrastructure and bespoke residential architecture, giving him a breadth of experience from city-shaping projects to homes rich in detail and character. At HASSELL, he was a design and station architecture lead on the award-winning Sydney Metro. He later joined Sam Crawford Architects, where he managed a wide range of public and private projects, from community-centered buildings to tailored homes.
He has led projects across scales and sectors, developing a perspective on architecture that is ambitious, practical, and enduring. His work is motivated by a desire to create places that empower ownership, are grounded in their context, and stand the test of time.
Outside the studio, Shane is a casual academic at the University of Technology, Sydney in both the construction and Design subjects in the Architecture degree. He also contributes to the Paul Pholeros Foundation, an organization that addresses social inequality and ill-health by improving housing in rural Australia and Nepal.

Are you a high school student, university student needing fresh eyes on their assignment or an enthusiast working on a private job?
Either in person, or online, I will work with you in a workshop format to develop your design concepts, documentation / detailing, or project delivery and regulatory advice. We may either host the workshops on a collaborative workspace in Miro, with print-outs and trace paper & pens, or a combination of both.
1 or 2 hour workshops are available with a focus on the following topics:
_ Architectural theory and conceptual project positioning
_Concept and schematic design
_Architectural documentation and detail design
_Project delivery guidance including navigating planning regulations
I am proficient (however not offering training in) the following softwares:
