About David

I am David 37 years old, French man. I arrived in Edinburgh 5 years ago. I have lived in different countries (Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria, Spain, England) and now Scotland. I was an au pair for 2 years in England and really like working with children. Also worked with adults wanting to move to Canada/Switzerland and improved conversational French for the day-to-day life and work environment. I love sports, playing at the moment tennis and badminton. Interest in history, politics, sport, cooking, languages and hiking. My main job is not teaching, I work in HR at Edinburgh University. Teaching is a passion and not a job which helps me to focus only on a few students and give my best. I use my work experience (teaching teenagers and adults), living experience in 6 countries and interest in a lot of subjects (history, sport, hiking, nature, plants, games, music, politics) to make my lessons interesting and useful. My lessons are based on an exchange always with smile and humour. I can help with your writing, speaking, pronunciation. I personally think getting out of a book and knowing what French people really use while speaking is the best outcome of a lesson. If you want to learn French and get at the same time knowledge of the culture and French news you are on the right profile.

About the lesson

I previously helped teenagers getting confidence in speaking (especially for French exams), gave support to adults who wished to move to a French-speaking country and workers who needed a good conversational French for meetings/communication at work.

David, is a very nice teacher(he speaks slowly by nature and that is a big advantage when learning French and having long conversation, very easy to understand him), he helped me practicing speaking with confidence and is also a very nice human being(you want to be his friend and chat forever)
I had lessons with him for over a year in Barcelona and my understanding of French is so much better. Definitively a 5 stars teacher. Thanks again for your time David and your smile every week.
