About Kira
I’m a piano teacher with over 5 years of experience teaching students both in-person and online. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and have worked with students of all levels—from absolute beginners to advanced and professional musicians. My lessons are guided by a belief in active participation, musical intention, and developing well-rounded musicianship. I aim to create a learning space where students feel both challenged and inspired. Each lesson blends technique, theory, creativity, and a touch of music history to give students a deeper connection to what they play. I carefully adapt my approach to fit each student’s unique learning style, interests, and goals. Whether preparing for exams, auditions, or playing just for joy, students receive personal attention and a thoughtful plan. I encourage expressive playing, strong listening skills, and musical storytelling at every stage. My teaching combines structure with imagination to keep progress steady and enjoyable. In my piano lessons, I blend structure with creativity to make learning fun and effective. I teach music theory step by step, while also building strong listening skills and expressive playing. Lessons include rhythm games that use movement and body percussion to help students feel the beat in a natural way.
I mix traditional methods with creative play to keep things fresh and engaging. We use modern tools like digital apps, virtual keyboards, and music software to support learning and spark creativity. For students who enjoy writing their own music or working with music tech, I offer guidance in using digital tools and composing techniques.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals and learning style. I help students become confident players who can read music, play by ear, and express emotions through sound. Whether you're just starting out or building your own songs, I’ll support you in reaching the next level.
Together, we explore music as a full experience—intellectual, emotional, and physical. My goal is to help you love the process, stay motivated, and grow your own musical voice through the piano.
