About Orin

I have over 9 years of experience teaching piano and hold a Bachelor of Science in Music Technology with a focus on Keyboard Production. I’m passionate about composition for film, television, and video games, and I love sharing this excitement with my students. My teaching style is fun, engaging, and personalised, designed to suit learners at every level—from school students to professionals. I specialise in melodic writing, orchestration, sound design using synthesisers, and working with digital audio workstations (DAWs). Whether you’re an intermediate player or an advanced musician, I tailor lessons to help you grow creatively and technically. I’ve supported students on their journey from mastering the basics to refining their skills at a professional level. My goal is to make learning enjoyable and inspiring while building a solid foundation in cinematic scoring. Together, we’ll explore the art of creating music that tells stories and evokes emotion. I’m here to guide you in unlocking your full potential as a composer and pianist. Let’s start this musical journey and bring your creative ideas to life.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is warm, interactive, and goal-oriented, designed especially for students who want to accompany vocalists or instrumentalists with confidence and sensitivity. I focus on developing strong ensemble skills, helping learners become attentive and responsive musicians. Lessons cover essential topics like reading lead sheets, transposing, rhythmic responsiveness, and playing seamlessly with others. I use visual aids, shared scores, and collaborative exercises to make learning engaging and clear. These tools support students in understanding music deeply while fostering teamwork and communication. I work closely with students who aim to excel in church music settings or digital music production, guiding their detailed progress step by step. Together, we cultivate the art of accompaniment, blending technical skills with expressive playing. My commitment is to help you grow as a reliable musical partner. You’ll gain confidence to support any ensemble with grace and creativity. Each lesson builds your ability to listen, adapt, and shine alongside other musicians. Let’s explore this rewarding journey in music together.
