With over 7 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Guitar Performance, I specialize in helping students discover the soulful world of blues guitar. My lessons are tailored to your level, whether you're just starting out or looking to master the finer details of slide technique and fingerpicking. I focus on open tunings, rhythmic phrasing, and building expressive, personal playing styles. My teaching style is supportive, flexible, and motivating—I meet students where they are and help them grow at their own pace. I have guided students through the sounds of Delta, Chicago, and Piedmont blues, offering a deeper appreciation of their unique musical voices. Each lesson includes hands-on applications, listening references, and creative exercises to lock in technique and feel. My guitar teaching approach blends playing techniques with the essential skills of guitar care and tone shaping. I believe every player should not only know how to perform but also understand their instrument inside and out. Lessons include how to properly change strings, clean and maintain your guitar, and set up your action and intonation. I also introduce basic electronics how pickups work, how pedals affect tone, and how to build a signal chain that suits your style.
This hands-on knowledge is especially helpful for players who perform regularly, whether at a campfire gathering or leading worship. I tailor each session to match your goals, with patient, step-by-step guidance. We’ll talk about common tone challenges and how to solve them with smart gear choices. I use real-world examples so you can apply what you learn immediately. You’ll leave every lesson with practical skills and more confidence.
My method creates independent, capable guitarists who don’t just play music they shape it. I support all my students in growing both as players and as caretakers of their instrument. You’ll master your gear, your sound, and your voice.
