Having spent the last eight years teaching guitar to over 300 students, I've learned that the most effective approach is one that is both structured and adaptable. I believe in establishing a strong technical foundation, covering essential skills like chord changes, scales, and arpeggios. However, I also recognize the importance of catering to each student's unique musical interests and learning style. Whether a student is passionate about blues improvisation, classical fingerpicking, or rock rhythm guitar, I integrate their preferred genres into our lessons. I emphasize the development of a keen musical ear, incorporating ear training exercises to improve their ability to recognize and reproduce musical patterns. For students interested in songwriting, I provide guidance on melody writing, harmony, and song structure. My ultimate goal is to empower my students to become confident, expressive, and lifelong musicians.
