About Brad

Meet Your Web Development Tutor: A Passionate Engineer with 15+ Years of Experience Hi, I’m a seasoned software engineering manager with over 15 years of hands-on experience in web development. My journey has taken me from building dynamic websites for major companies like QVC to leading engineering teams and mentoring developers at every level. I’ve worked across the full stack—front-end and back-end—using technologies like Node.js, ColdFusion, Lucee, PHP, JavaScript, and SQL, among others. What sets me apart isn’t just my technical depth—it’s my love for teaching. I’m patient, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping others grow. Whether you’re a young student just starting out or an adult looking to switch careers, I’ll guide you through the world of web development with clarity, encouragement, and real-world insight. My goal is to make coding approachable, practical, and even fun. I’ll help you build the skills and confidence to create your own projects, understand the tech landscape, and take meaningful steps toward your goals—whether that’s acing a class, launching a portfolio, or preparing for a new career in tech.

About the lesson

Learn Web Development with a Tutor Who Builds Confidence, Not Just Code

Whether you're a curious middle schooler, a high school student exploring tech careers, or an adult ready to pivot into a new profession, my lessons are designed to meet you exactly where you are—and take you further than you thought possible.

My Teaching Method
I believe in learning by doing. My approach blends clear explanations with hands-on practice, so students not only understand the “how” but also the “why” behind each concept. I break down complex topics into digestible steps, using real-world examples and interactive coding exercises to reinforce learning. I’m patient, encouraging, and always ready to adapt my style to fit your pace and goals.

A Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson is structured to build both skill and confidence:

Warm-up (10 min): Quick review of previous material and a short coding challenge

Core Concept (30 min): Introduction to a new topic (e.g., HTML structure, CSS styling, JavaScript logic, or backend basics)

Hands-On Project (15 min): Apply the concept by building something real—a webpage, a form, a mini-game, or a simple app

Wrap-Up & Q&A (5 min): Recap key takeaways and preview what’s next

I also provide optional homework and project ideas to keep the momentum going between sessions.

What Sets Me Apart
I’ve worked on real websites and applications, so I teach with practical insight—not just theory.

I tailor lessons to your interests—whether that’s building a portfolio, launching a blog, or prepping for a tech bootcamp.

I’m equally comfortable teaching kids who’ve never coded before and adults who want to re-skill for a new career.

I emphasize mindset and problem-solving, helping students become independent, confident developers.

Who These Lessons Are For
Middle & High School Students curious about coding or considering a tech career

College Students who want to strengthen their web dev skills outside the classroom

Adults & Career-Changers looking to break into tech or build freelance/web-based businesses

No prior experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn!
