About Bradley
Storytelling has always been at the heart of how I understand music long before I ever thought about teaching it professionally to others. I grew up in a family that valued sharing stories around the table just as much as playing music together which shaped how deeply I connect emotion and sound even today. My fifteen years of teaching have only confirmed my belief that students learn technique more naturally when it grows out of genuine feeling rather than being imposed as an abstract rule from the outside. I try to know each student personally beyond just their musical goals because that human connection genuinely shapes how openly and expressively they play with me. Parents and adult students alike often mention how much they appreciate the emotional warmth of my studio compared to more clinical technical lessons elsewhere. After fifteen years and six hundred twenty-five students nothing moves me more than watching a student discover real emotional truth in a song they once played purely mechanically.

I believe every song is really just a story waiting to be told so my lessons start with the mood and meaning behind the music long before we worry about hitting notes perfectly. We talk about what a song is expressing and why almost like reading a short story together before ever playing a single phrase. Technique naturally flows out of that emotional understanding since a student who genuinely feels the story tends to shape dynamics and phrasing far more naturally than one focused purely on mechanics. I share little stories from my own life during lessons too because I have found that genuine connection between teacher and student makes the whole learning experience feel warmer and safer. Warm ups often involve imagining a scene or a feeling rather than dry repetitive scales because emotional imagery tends to unlock a more natural authentic sound on the guitar. We revisit favorite songs across many lessons discovering new emotional layers each time rather than abandoning a piece the moment it is technically passable. My hope is that students leave every lesson feeling like they told a real story through the guitar rather than simply completed a technical exercise.
