About Skyler
A little bit about my experience: over the summer of 2012, I taught an art class for children ages 4 and 5. For the past year I have worked at an elementary school in Santa Barbara as a reading tutor for second graders. Recently I finished a year long position as the Childcare Coordinator for a program called CADA in Carpenteria where I oversaw children's activities while their parents attended meetings. These children's ages ranged from 6 months to 15 years old, and occasionally I would attend to (up to) 8 kids at a time!
Last year I nannied for a family in Montecito with 3 children ages 1.5, 6, and 8 (until they moved away). I handled pick ups/drop offs for after school activities, helped them with homework, and oversaw their daily/night routine. For recreation, we had picnics, went to the park, made up games, cooked together, and did crafts together! I am great at coming up with unique, educational learning opportunities through games, activities, and crafts.
I was also a nanny for a 2.5 year old boy in Orange County about 20 hours a week. I scheduled daily activities and helped prepare him for preschool. Currently I am a nanny to two precious infants in Santa Barbara, ages 4 months and 6 months.
That being said, I am open to temporary, part-time, occasional, and one-time jobs. I have experience with house-sitting and pet-sitting as well.

Hi, my name is Skyler. I know it's hard to trust strangers with your children, but you can trust that your children are safe with me. Not only because am I CPR & First Aid Certified, but I also ensure that parents feel comfortable leaving their children with me, by, for example, making sure to send text updates throughout my shift (and if you would like, the occasional photo :)).
I am a recent graduate from Westmont College. Studying at a liberal arts college has allowed me to become educationally well-rounded and a sharp, critical thinker with a high does of common sense. I love children of all ages, which is why half of my current experience has been volunteer-based and the other half paid. I have been babysitting for seven years now and I have watched children of all ages ranging from 6 months to 15 years old. When I babysit I try to encourage non-technologic stimulation: things like baking, making crafts, playing games, reading books, going to the park, going on walks, or being active in any way.
