About Avery
Twenty years of performance experience have taught me that singing is primarily an ATHLETIC ENDEAVOR. I admit that I struggled with stage fear early in my career.
My training was piano-primary but I spent years studying voice alongside violin. This cross-training allows me to explain harmony and pitch control through instrumental logic. I work with absolute beginners and advanced students who need a fresh perspective. My kids and adult learners often find that my methods clear up long-standing confusion.
I am happy to share my personal notes on breathing and warm-up exercises with you. I look forward to working with you as a fellow musician on this journey.

Singing with total confidence starts when your body feels entirely READY FOR PERFORMANCE. Does your voice feel strained after only 15 minutes of practice?
We address this by focusing on vocal health and care during every warm up. My degree from the New England Conservatory ensures that we maintain proper diction and articulation regardless of the genre. I will show you how to use microphone technique to enhance your unique sound. We spend time on vibrato control until the technique becomes a natural part of your expression.
