About Karen

Since I was three years old, I have been singing and performing, starting out in our family singing group. (Von Trapps Anyone?)
My dad, who held a Phd. in Music Performance and Theory, guided my musical training and upbringing.
I focused on and pursued music throughout my whole academic career. I then made the transition to professional singing and entered into studio work for Reelworld Productions in Seattle, IQ Beats, and a few other indie studios. My current outlets, which really keep me in touch with performance, teaching, and working with vocal students, include jingles, Radio Station IDs, and professional recording, as well as live performance.

About the lesson

Have you wanted to sing or learn to sing and felt like maybe it just wasn’t for you? Or did you use to sing but feel like you have gotten rusty? Or…have you been told to “keep your day job” or that you can’t sing…and it has created a pang in your heart…
If so, let’s work together to unpack that and help you pursue your dream of singing.

If you are a professional singer, a student or someone who just wants to sing to spark joy in your heart…then, let’s work together.

Build Strong Breath Support
Create Good Tone
Find and Use Your registers
Do Phrasing
Communicate and Perform

In each lesson, we will review what you worked on the week prior to get a sense of how you are progressing. This is a great time to share any challenges you ran into and what you would like extra help with to improve and move forward.
Work on technique through the use of vocal and breathing exercises
Learn how to apply all of that to a song that you love and that we choose together in order to help you find success quickly
I will send you off with an assignment to work on for the next week
