About Angie
I'm a recording artist, singer-songwriter and experienced music tutor based in Birmingham. I have 25 years' experience teaching music within colleges around Birmingham and Worcestershire and have worked with singers and performers of all ages and abilities.
As a working artist, I bring real-world experience of singing, performing, songwriting and recording into my coaching. I've performed as a solo artist, in bands and as part of duos across a wide range of venues and musical styles, and I've recorded vocals both for my own music and for commissions.
My approach is relaxed, supportive and tailored to you. Vocal coaching isn't about trying to make everyone sound the same — it's about helping you understand your voice, develop your technique, build confidence and discover your own sound and style.
Whether you want to improve your vocal technique, prepare for performing or recording, develop your confidence, explore songwriting, need some artist development or simply get more from your voice, I'd love to help you.
I'm currently releasing and performing my own music (find me on streams and socials) so you'll be learning from an active recording artist as well as an experienced teacher.

Every session is tailored to you, your voice and what you want to achieve. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to vocal coaching, so we'll start by understanding your experience, your goals and what you would most like to develop.
Depending on what you need, a session might include vocal warm-ups and breathing, technique and vocal control, developing your tone and range, phrasing and interpretation, microphone technique, performance skills or building confidence.
We can also work with songs that you choose, looking at how to make them your own and develop your individual style. If you're preparing for a performance, audition or recording session, we can focus specifically on getting you ready and making you feel confident.
For aspiring artists and singer-songwriters, sessions can go further than vocals. I can support you with songwriting, artist development, live performance, recording and navigating the music industry, drawing on my own experience as a working independent artist.
Most importantly, sessions are relaxed, encouraging and practical. I want you to leave each session feeling that you've learned something useful, made progress and have something to work on between sessions.

Details
Lessons are £45 per hour.
I also offer a free 30-minute introductory session, giving us the chance to meet, discuss what you'd like to achieve and make sure my coaching approach is right for you.
Sessions can be booked individually or as a regular weekly or fortnightly commitment, depending on your needs and availability.
