About Amara
Do you ever wonder why your throat feels tired after singing just a few lines? I teach because I want to protect the instrument you carry with you every day. Having worked with 331 students ranging from teens to returning adult learners, I understand the unique challenges of different vocal stages.
My approach integrates vocal health and care with practical work on head and chest voice. I teach you how to build your range safely while focusing on proper diction and articulation. I bring my formal music degree into every warm-up exercise. My background as a native Spanish speaker also aids in teaching precise Latin American pronunciation for singing.
I am quite particular about healthy belting technique. It brings me great joy to hear a voice finally find its natural resonance.

Singing is not about forcing your voice to be loud but about letting it be free. You might find that the quietest exercises produce the strongest results when you stop trying to project artificially.
I structure our sessions to focus on exam preparation or simply building your confidence for performance. We look at sight singing to ensure you understand the architecture of your favorite pieces. My experience with Latin music influences the way I approach rhythm and breath control for my students. I use my degree to explain the mechanics of vocal health in ways that are easy to digest.
We move between technical drills and repertoire work to keep the process engaging. You will find that even the most difficult passages become manageable with the right preparation. I truly enjoy witnessing the moment a student hits a note that once felt impossible. It is a privilege to guide you through this process.
