About Josh
I am a singer, composer, and writer whose journey into the world of vocal tuition began in my teenage years, when I was entrusted with the role of Musical Director for a regional production of Sweeney Todd. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for helping others find and refine their voice—both literally and artistically. Years later, and after countless productions, I’ve had the privilege of directing, teaching, and mentoring thousands of singers and performers. Whether on stage, in the studio, or in the rehearsal room, my goal has always been the same: to help artists unlock their vocal potential and achieve their individual goals with confidence, technique, and expression.

At the heart of my teaching philosophy lies a fundamental belief: improvement is built, not reached. Growth is not a fixed endpoint but a continual process of construction—one that requires intention, resilience, and reflection, but also security and trust. For a student to improve they must take risks, and to take risks they must have a firm foundation of confidence as well as technique to build on. This is why I emphasise the development of two critical foundations: confidence and technique. Confidence empowers students to step beyond their comfort zones, to ask questions, to make mistakes, and to persist. Technique provides the skills and strategies necessary to turn risks into meaningful progress. My role is to nurture both—to create a space where you can feel safe to explore, and to provide the tools and guidance you need to build on each success or setback.
