About Cheryl
I am a violin instructor with 5 years of experience. I teach all levels from beginners to advanced. I have taught about 200 to 250 students. Many have passed exams, played in orchestras, and gained solo confidence. My teaching is based on real examples, feedback, and trust. I focus on posture, bowing, pitch, and expression. I also teach reading, theory, and ear training. I give clear feedback for fast progress. I am patient, encouraging, and consistent. I celebrate progress and help with challenges. I am proud of my students' growth. My goal is to develop skilled, confident violinists.

My teaching method for violin is based on real examples, helpful feedback, and trust. I believe learning violin requires patience, effort, and clear guidance. My goal is to build technique, expression, and love for the instrument. Real examples are central. I show how experts use techniques in performances. I use videos and recordings. I share my own experiences. When students face trouble, I tell them how others solved similar problems. This makes learning clear. Helpful feedback is important. I give specific comments on posture, bowing, pitch, rhythm, and expression. I point out strengths and what needs work. I teach students to listen to themselves. I use recordings so they can hear clearly. This builds independent learning. Trust is the foundation. I am always on time, prepared, and consistent. Students know what to expect. I communicate clearly and check on practice. This builds a strong relationship. My lessons cover technique, pitch, reading, theory, and repertoire. I teach posture, bow hold, finger position, and bow strokes. I use scales and etudes. I teach pitch with ear training and drone work. I teach shifting and vibrato slowly. Reading uses graded materials. Theory covers keys, time, and intervals. Repertoire includes classical, folk, jazz, and contemporary. I teach expression and dynamics. Ear training uses call-and-response. I also teach performance preparation. Each lesson has warm-ups, scales, repertoire, and review. I check progress and adjust. My aim is to create confident, expressive violinists.
