About Ivy
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance after developing a strong passion for orchestral music, solo repertoire, and expressive string playing during my musical education. During the past 6 years, I have taught students with different backgrounds and learning experiences, helping them improve through supportive and personalized lessons. Teaching violin allows me to combine technical instruction with emotional encouragement in a meaningful way. I enjoy helping learners rediscover enjoyment and confidence through music.
My teaching style focuses on patience, careful listening, and healthy technique development. Some students need gentle review and reassurance after long breaks, while others benefit from more structured challenges and performance preparation. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s pace, confidence level, and musical goals. Along with technical growth, I help students strengthen rhythm awareness, musical memory, tone production, and expressive playing ability. Building a calm and supportive learning environment remains very important to me.
Outside teaching, I continue practicing violin, exploring classical repertoire, and studying different performance approaches that help me grow as a musician and educator. Music remains an important source of creativity and emotional expression in my life. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing students become more comfortable and confident with their instrument over time. Helping learners reconnect with music while developing lasting violin skills continues to inspire me greatly.

My violin lessons are designed to help students feel relaxed, motivated, and confident while improving their musical skills steadily. I teach bow control, tone quality, posture, rhythm accuracy, and intonation through calm and supportive exercises that encourage consistent progress. Lessons also include open string warm-ups, slow scale practice, relaxation techniques, and mental preparation exercises that help students reduce tension and improve focus naturally. I create a reassuring environment where learners can rebuild confidence without feeling pressured or discouraged. Every lesson supports both technical development and emotional comfort.
Beginners and returning students receive patient guidance with hand positioning, bow movement, note accuracy, and listening awareness through organized step-by-step exercises. Intermediate learners improve phrasing, shifting, tone consistency, and smoother coordination through structured musical studies and performance preparation activities. Advanced students focus on expressive interpretation, stage confidence, dynamic control, and stronger emotional connection to repertoire through advanced performance work. I carefully adjust lesson pacing according to each learner’s goals and comfort level so progress feels balanced and encouraging.
Learning violin should feel rewarding and uplifting. I encourage students to focus on growth and consistency instead of perfection because musical confidence develops gradually through support and practice. Many learners become more expressive and relaxed as they continue rebuilding trust in their abilities over time. My goal is to help students enjoy playing again while strengthening both technical skill and musical expression. Every lesson supports creativity, confidence, and long-term musical growth.
