About Hazel
I earned a Master’s Degree in String Performance after years of studying orchestral music, solo repertoire, and advanced violin techniques during my musical training. Over the last 4 years, I have taught students with different backgrounds and experience levels, helping them improve through supportive and personalized instruction. Teaching violin allows me to combine technical guidance with emotional encouragement in a meaningful and rewarding way. I enjoy helping learners rediscover confidence through music.
My teaching approach focuses on patience, careful listening, and healthy technical development. Some students need gentle review and reassurance, while others benefit from more structured challenges and performance-focused practice. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s comfort level, pace, and musical goals. Along with technical improvement, I help students strengthen rhythm awareness, tone quality, musical memory, and expressive playing ability. Creating a calm and supportive environment is always one of my priorities.
Outside teaching, I continue practicing violin, exploring different interpretations of classical repertoire, and studying performance techniques that keep my musical understanding growing. Music remains an important source of creativity and emotional expression in my life. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing students become more confident and comfortable with their instrument over time. Helping learners reconnect with music while building lasting violin skills continues to inspire me greatly.

My violin lessons focus on helping students reconnect with music through patient guidance and supportive practice methods. I teach bow control, intonation, tone development, posture, and rhythm through calm step-by-step exercises that help learners feel comfortable and steady during practice. Lessons include open string warm-ups, slow scale meditation, relaxation techniques, and confidence-building exercises that reduce tension and improve focus naturally. I create a reassuring learning environment where students can rebuild their abilities without feeling pressured. Every lesson supports both technical progress and emotional confidence.
Beginners and returning learners receive careful guidance with hand positioning, bow movement, note accuracy, and listening awareness through simple and organized exercises. Intermediate students improve tone consistency, phrasing, shifting, and smoother coordination through structured musical studies and performance preparation. Advanced learners focus on expressive interpretation, dynamic control, musical confidence, and stronger stage presence through advanced repertoire practice. I carefully adjust lessons according to each learner’s comfort level and goals so progress feels manageable and encouraging throughout the process.
Learning violin should feel rewarding and emotionally uplifting. I encourage students to focus on growth and consistency instead of perfection because confidence develops gradually through practice and support. Many learners become more relaxed and expressive as they continue rebuilding trust in their musical abilities. My goal is to help students enjoy playing again while strengthening their technical and expressive skills. Every lesson supports confidence, creativity, and long-term musical development.
