About Xena

My journey with violin began through admiration for orchestral music and expressive musical storytelling. This interest inspired me to complete a PhD in String Performance Education, where I studied violin technique, performance psychology, and teaching methods in depth. Over the past 9 years, I have helped students develop strong musical foundations through supportive and structured guidance.

I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style according to each learner’s pace and personality. My approach focuses on patience, encouragement, and clear explanation to help students improve steadily without pressure. Some learners progress through technical repetition, while others grow through listening and creative interpretation. I carefully shape lessons to ensure students feel motivated and supported.

Outside teaching, I continue exploring chamber music, orchestral repertoire, and performance studies to keep my lessons inspiring and meaningful. This allows me to bring real musical experience and artistic insight into every class. My goal is to help students grow both technically and emotionally through music. Supporting their confidence and musical expression is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

About the lesson

My violin lessons focus on helping students develop technical control while building emotional connection with music. I teach bowing coordination, finger placement, intonation accuracy, vibrato, rhythm training, phrasing, tone quality, and musical interpretation through clear and supportive guidance. Lessons are designed to help students understand the relationship between technique and expression instead of relying only on repetitive practice. I create a calm environment where learners can improve confidently and steadily.

Each lesson is adjusted according to the learner’s experience level, musical goals, and confidence. Beginners receive patient guidance with posture, open-string exercises, and note reading, while advanced learners strengthen interpretation, advanced techniques, and stage readiness. I include scales, duet activities, listening exercises, and performance preparation methods to improve overall musicianship. Students preparing for performances or examinations receive focused support with accuracy and confidence.

I believe violin becomes truly rewarding when students feel emotionally connected to the music they play. My lessons help reduce self-doubt and replace it with confidence through patient instruction and structured practice. Many learners gradually become more expressive and technically secure as they progress. My goal is to help students become confident musicians who genuinely enjoy performing and learning.
