Katherine O’Neill is an exceptional violin teacher in two regards. First, in that she makes a sincere effort to find out what it takes to unblock, motivate, and inspire her students on an individual basis. Her lessons are always tailored, and it matters a great deal to her where exactly her students are at in the learning process, and what they are interested in adding to their repertoire. Second, she understands how important it is that the love for the instrument and the music not get lost in the daily grind of practice. Katherine never lets you forget why you wanted to learn. This, coupled with an outstanding command of the instrument, a keen auditory radar for errors, and a knack for collecting creative ways to fix bad habits, make her a fantastic teacher. I came to her as a clueless beginner, and have made way more progress than I ever expected. I’m grateful to have her guidance in my violin journey, and I’m excited to keep learning.

Katherine is an incredibly passionate teacher. I've learned so much in her lessons. She's supportive while pushing her students to new highs. She listens and observes her students closely to help refine their technique so they may reach the next level.
