About Jean-Philippe

I'm a post-production manager and video editor with a professional experience of almost 15 years. I've been using Premiere since 2004 alongside other programs from the Adobe Suite like After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Audition. I've studied film production for 3 years and developped my knowledge and skills in the field through a diverse range of projects, from music videos, short fictions and documentaries, tutorials, online creations and branded content.
I was head of the video departement of a production company specialised in educational programs, supervising a dozen of editors and videographers, as well as shooting and editing content, and in charge of the quality control and of keeping our editing workflow under control. I'm also a film and music passionate, and have a secondary activity as graphic designer.

About the lesson

My course will begin with a proper introduction covering how visual narration is created through editing and composition, how to spot cuts & splices in video content and how to add flavour and dynamism to shorter content like social media publications. We'll then dive straight into the core of my course, the Adobe Premiere Pro software. This course will teach the basics of this software and most importantly, how to use it to create an engaging content and create a strong emotional reaction with its audience.
I'll cover different type of content from fiction, music videos, corporate work, interviews, social media and some of the formats that can be find in online content like vlogs and YouTube creations.
There will also be a quick overview of motion design, sound editing and mixing and of video formats, codecs and video conversion. My students will just have to access Premiere on their own, for example by renting it through an Adobe Creative Cloud plan for £30,34 / month.

Wow! Having Jean-Philippe as a guitar teacher was one of the smartest things I've done! I am learning to play acoustic and electric, while he plays both, as well as bass.

The best part about learning from him is that he teaches you the basics, then you have a visual example with a song. For example, I learned how to do a muffle strumming exercise with "Eye of the Tiger." Then, I learned how to "hammer on" and "pull off" by playing "Pink Panther."

Jean-Philippe also asks you what songs you want to play and he teaches you that, while showing you how to add improvisations. He also created tab sheets for each lesson and sends them to you, along with a recording of him playing the song.

Jean-Philippe was never impatient or rude; always patient and encouraging! Not to mention, his price is very reasonable and he is able to adapt to your schedule.

I would highly recommend Jean-Philippe as I continue to go to him for lessons as I type.
