About Jay
I love teaching, but my four years working as a full-time project-based learning teacher forced me to relegate my NatGeo Explorer work to nights and the summer break. I'm here to strike a new balance: where I can actively develop my project work AND teach part-time.
Also, when I was a student, I struggled when I didn't see the application of what I was learning. I wasn't bored, I was too excited to dive deep into the other activities that stoked my passions. I want to help others structure their own learning to see this style of learning as a strength, not a weakness.

My first editing job was local TV using tape-to-tape editing! In addition to continuing to edit video for social media, web, short films and feature-length movies, I've taught video production to many ages, from children to college courses.
