About Soren
I am an enthusiastic piano tutor with 9 years of professional experience, having successfully taught around 300 students. My learners include teenagers, college students, and adults who wish to improve skills, prepare for exams, or perform confidently.
My teaching philosophy combines strong technical foundations with creative musical expression. I emphasise posture, hand coordination, finger independence, scales, rhythm, sight-reading, and theory, while helping students interpret music and connect emotionally with each piece.
Lessons are balanced with technique exercises, repertoire, and theory, with beginners gaining confidence through simple pieces and advanced students refining performance skills and exploring complex compositions.
My mission is to inspire students to become confident, expressive, and independent pianists who enjoy their musical journey.

My methodology for teaching piano blends structured guidance with flexible support. I adapt to each student’s learning style to ensure lessons are effective and engaging. I focus on essential skills such as scales, arpeggios, rhythm control, hand independence, and expressive playing.
I guide students carefully through repertoire that challenges them while remaining achievable. Flexibility allows me to revisit concepts or adjust pacing based on progress.
Collaboration strengthens motivation, as students participate in choosing pieces and setting performance goals. I maintain a positive and encouraging classroom atmosphere to build confidence. In addition to piano, I teach sight-reading, music theory, keyboard skills, and beginner harmony to support comprehensive musical growth.
