About Zehao

My name is Zehao Ni and I am 18 years old. I am currently studying at Marianopolis College as a Cegep 1 student. I started learning piano at the age of 4. Since then, I developed a huge interest for the piano. I participated in alot of competitions, including winning 1st prize six times in a row from 2017 to 2022 in Crescendo International Music Competition which occured in Carnegie Hall in New York City. I also won 3rd place in 2019 in the Canadian Music Competition and got a scholarship from Québécor.

About the lesson

I am teaching for beginner and intermediate pianists (Level 1 to 8)

For performance: I will begin with an initial assessment to understand the student’s current level, goals, and musical preferences. Depending on the student's level, I will create a customized lesson plan that caters to the student’s needs. For students planning on passing a practical exam, the lesson will be based off every aspect of the repertoire, technique, ear tests, and sight reading. I will make sure to provide constructive feedback for them to enhance their preparation and help them when they have difficulties understanding. For students planning to play for fun, I will help them to correct mistakes, enhance their performance, and introduce techniques to help them with difficulties.

For theory (students planning to pass RCM exams): I will be teaching throughout the RCM theory books (level 1 to level 8). I will make sure that students have fun learning new knowledge while making sure that they understand every single aspect of the subject. I will also give them homework after each class, including doing exercises from the book, playing and listen examples related to the skills acquired in class.
