About Duygu

I am a very experienced violin teacher for individual and group lessons. I graduated from the Royal Schools of Music (Certificate of Teaching) and Suzuki Teacher Training in London. My long experience therefore includes collective and individual musical activities with very young children (3 years old). I have taught in various schools in London and Dubai for 20 years and have also given many private lessons to students that I have successfully prepared for including ABRSM exams and auditions with excellent results. I also ran Whole Class Teaching Project for classes of 40 children and my class had been chosen from 60 schools in the UK to perform as part of a music project launch by government. I specialize in group teaching with progress in a fun environment. I have also led ensemble projects with students and members of the London Symphony Orchestra. I have been living in Marseille since 2018 where I obtained the DELF Level B2 in order to teach both in English and in French.

About the lesson

Depending on the demand for the method and the age of the student, the lessons can be done in Suzuki or in the traditional method. Here are some examples of lessons and student development in one year in the traditional method: Knowledge of music A range of rhythmic, improvisation activities, using both instrument and vocals A range of composition activities , using both instrument and vocals A range of music listened to, including recordings made by others as well as recordings made by learners themselves Develop technical skills on the violin for further study understanding music by this medium Opportunities to play the violin by memory and vocals in a range of styles and genres, and in a variety of venues Basic knowledge of notation appropriate to their stage of development, possibly including but not limited to staff notation Awareness of the long-term nature of musical learning Singing activities that support musical learning
