About Ethel
I am a dedicated Saxophone tutor with 14 years of teaching experience, and I have successfully trained around 150 students from beginner to advanced levels. My journey as a teacher has been deeply rewarding because I enjoy helping students discover the creativity, technique, and expression behind saxophone playing. I believe that learning the Saxophone is not just about producing sound, but about developing musicality, confidence, rhythm, and emotional connection.
My teaching approach is based on clear communication, patience, and personalized guidance. I carefully understand each student’s learning style and adapt my lessons to match their goals and abilities. Some students learn better through demonstrations and visual techniques, while others benefit from listening exercises, repetition, and practical playing activities.
I include music theory, ear training, breath control, articulation, fingering techniques, scales, improvisation, sight-reading, and performance practice in my lessons. I also use real-life musical examples and practical exercises to help students understand different styles and improve their overall musicianship.
I focus on building strong fundamentals such as proper posture, embouchure development, tone quality, rhythm accuracy, and technical control. At the same time, I encourage creativity, self-expression, and confidence. My goal is to make every student feel comfortable, inspired, and motivated while enjoying their journey of learning the Saxophone.

I teach Saxophone using a structured, student-focused approach guided by Communication, Accountability, and Integrity. I first assess the student’s level and musical interests to design personalized lessons.
I focus on breath management, tone clarity, finger coordination, articulation accuracy, and rhythm precision. Open communication encourages students to ask questions and feel confident.
Weekly practice assignments and measurable goals maintain accountability and steady improvement. I monitor progress closely and adjust lessons when necessary. Integrity ensures honest guidance and professional support.
Along with Saxophone, I teach Music Theory, Jazz fundamentals, Harmony concepts, and Performance preparation.
