About Joshua
Joshua Gopal is a multi-faceted musician whose specialty is drumming. and has proven it too. He started playing drums at 7 and is considered a prodigy by many. He kick-started his professional career at 16 with Nikitha Gandhi. He exudes energy and confidence on stage which makes him one of the most sought-after drummers in Bangalore and Chennai. His interest lies across genres like jazz, fusion, rock, pop, soul, gospel, Latin, r&b. Having been trained from the best institutes in the world like Berklee, he has played with several well-known bands in Bangalore like Sanjeev Thomas, Nikitha Gandhi, Suresh Peters. He is the founder of Groove Fest, an annual event focusing on knowledge sharing. He has conducted these events in India, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Shanghai. He has collaborated with artists like Shariq Tucker, Mateus Asato, Sean Wright, Gergo Borlai, Vidya Vox, Sam Tusi, Mohini Dey, The band six (band for Big Bang, G- Dragon, Black Pink) conduct workshops, explore music and educate aspiring musicians. He has organized many interactive sessions where aspiring musicians have picked these artists’ brains. While he performed extensively on stage, he was drawn to music production. With a sharp ear, creative approach and a pleasing disposition, he formed collaborative partnerships with musicians and producers from around the world. With over a decade of cross-genre and multifaceted experiences, Joshua has established himself as a virtuoso in the music industry. He is renowned for his work in arrangements, music production and mixing & mastering. He also is keen on inspiring the next generation to start playing music. His teaching methodologies focusing on ear training and music theory have gained him a lot of young followers.
