About David
Hey there, I'm David, a seasoned Graduate Architect with over a decade of hands-on experience in New Zealand and the UK. I'm thrilled to share my knowledge in presentation, design, construction documentation, ArchiCAD and project delivery with you.
In the realm of design, I've led projects of various scales, specializing in 3D structural design and turning abstract concepts into real construction drawings. Let's work together on honing your conceptualization skills, ensuring your designs not only meet functional needs but also wow with innovative and aesthetic solutions. We'll dive into refining your presentation techniques, focusing on effectively communicating your design intent through drawings and visualizations.
Crafting a killer portfolio is key in the competitive world of architecture. Drawing from my experience, I can guide you in creating a portfolio that showcases your skills, projects, and unique design approach. I'll share insights on organizing and presenting your work, highlighting key projects, and crafting narratives that grab the attention of universities, employers, or clients.
Proficiency in architectural software is a game-changer. With my expertise, including training sessions I've conducted in offices I've worked in, I offer hands-on ArchiCAD training. Whether you're a beginner or looking to master advanced features, we'll navigate ArchiCAD together for conceptualization, design development, and documentation. Real-world examples and practical exercises will boost your confidence in using this powerful tool.
Beyond design, I've got insights into effective project management and collaboration. We'll delve into coordinating with clients and contractors, maintaining a friendly yet professional demeanor. You'll learn to manage timelines, budgets, and project teams, gaining a holistic understanding of the architectural process.
My creative roots in sculpture and a love for the 3D form bring an artistic touch to architecture. I'll inspire you to infuse creativity into your designs, exploring the artistic aspects that make architecture truly compelling. Through discussions, critiques, and hands-on exercises, we'll delve into the artistic dimensions of architecture.
Communication skills are a must in the architectural world. I'll share techniques to convey complex ideas with clarity, be it through drawings, reports, or verbal communication. This skill is vital for effective collaboration and for presenting and defending your design decisions.
I'm genuinely excited about guiding you on your architectural journey. Together, we'll explore the ins and outs of architecture, and I'll share my wealth of experience to help you navigate and thrive in this exciting field. Let's embark on this journey together!

Perfect! David has been a great tutor throughout my Architectural Technology studies. He has been super helpful with my final hand-ins, always taking the time to explain everything clearly and making sure I fully understand each part of the work.
He is extremely patient, supportive, and always clear with his explanations, which has made a huge difference to my confidence and understanding. David is also very flexible with timing, which has been so helpful around study deadlines and a busy schedule.
