About Jago
I’m a passionate musician and tutor with Grade 8 distinctions in piano and clarinet. Over several years and a wide range of ensemble and solo performances, I’ve learnt practical ways to make music feel inviting and rewarding, regardless of the instrument you wield. I want to instil confidence in my students, believing that trust and encouragement let potential flourish. From the first-timer holding an instrument for the first time to the seasoned player coming back after time away, I set tidy, realistic goals so improvement feels tangible. Each lesson is paced to suit you, filled with the right mix of challenge and support, so your confidence and skills build steadily.

My lessons are student-centred and flexible, designed to make music enjoyable while building solid foundations in technique, rhythm and expression. A typical lesson lasts 30 to 60 minutes depending on age and level. I hold Grade 8 in both piano and clarinet, alongside years of experience performing and supporting other musicians. Lessons are suitable for complete beginners through to intermediate players of all ages. I adapt my teaching style to each student, using practical exercises, repertoire, and personalised goals to help them progress with confidence.
