In our lessons, we can go over any difficulties you have with Russian (grammar, pronunciation etc.) and we will practise speaking through short conversations. If you are following a particular Russian course (e.g. GCSE Russian), we will discuss topics set as part of it, but if you are learning Russian independently or from scratch, there will still be plenty for us to talk about to practise! We will listen to Russian-language music and discuss the cultures of the enormous Russian-speaking world. Listening to music is one of the best ways to learn how real Russian speakers speak. It is hard for English speakers to pronounce Russian words sometimes, and it is very hard to actually sound Russian, but I am here to help! We will do grammar exercises. Russian grammar is a monster, and the best way to tackle it is repetition. The great thing about Russian grammar is that there’s a lot to learn, but it all fits together. We will use the Penguin Russian Course exercises among others. Exciting!
Lessons can be an hour long so that we can get properly into the discussions, but they can be shorter if that works better for you.
