About Alex
I really enjoy the process of getting to know a student and watching them develop over time. I've always really enjoyed learning about Roman civilisation and hope to share a bit of that if possible. My personal interests include: music, both listening to it and playing it (I play the electric guitar); sports, especially football though I'm also a ski instructor and have recently started kickboxing and reading, particularly sci-fi and fantasy though I also enjoy the classics.

I have read a lot of Latin outside of the syllabus allowing me to find passages targeted specifically at your interests and ability. For language sessions, we'd run through a passage orally, familiarising you with Latin vocabulary, grammar and - depending on the level - idiom. For grammar sessions we go through a given construction in detail, then use translation exercises to ensure a solid foundation. A typical lesson is between 30 minutes and an hour. I have over 50 hours tutoring experience and have completed the Cambridge Pre-U syllabus for Latin. I tutor Latin language up to Pre-U level and can also help with translating the set text.
