About Max
I am currently on an Integrated Masters Physics course at the University of Manchester.
My teaching experience includes a time spent volunteering in a primary school and as a swimming coach for under 7s. I have also acted as a tutor to secondary school students whilst in college along with tutoring work with several A-level students.
I have always enjoyed teaching from a young age... this involved me accidently leading guided tours around dinosaur museums at 8 and offloading my best physics facts to unwilling friends by 15.
I hope to ensure that every person I teach leaves with a healthy relationship with Maths and Physics, as I know many struggle. This is almost always due to the method of teaching, so with the burst of confidence that a tutor can bring from the extra practice this will translate well to the classroom.
Along with this I know that teaching is the best method of learning, so it is always a good idea for me to keep up with my mental maths by trying to keep up with children not yet introduced to calculators!

I like to start my sessions with a quick quiz to initially to assess their learning level. Past the first few sessions these quizzes are more tailored to the student to also aid their learning as well as to check their progress.
The simple reality that faces anyone pursuing an education in Physics and/or Maths is that practice is the best way to improve. So I start sessions with a recap to reinforce the previous session before tackling new subjects.
~For online sessions both Zoom and Teams can be used~
