About Winnie

I’m a Cambridge PhD student and university lecturer with experience interviewing applicants for undergraduate.

Having sat on both sides of university interviews — as an applicant and as an interviewer — I understand what interviewers are actually looking for, as well as how stressful the process can feel for students.

I genuinely enjoys helping students feel less stressed and more confident about learning. I help applicants communicate their ideas clearly, structure strong answers, reflect on their experiences effectively, and stay calm when they are asked difficult or unexpected questions.

My approach is supportive but realistic. I won’t give you scripts to memorise. Instead, I help you understand how to think through a question so that your answers sound confident, thoughtful, and genuinely your own. I can also help with personal statements, application materials, and preparation for university courses.

About the lesson

Interview preparation is tailored to the student and course. We can work on:
- structuring strong interview answers without sounding rehearsed;
- discussing work experience and motivation effectively;
- handling ethical, situational, or unexpected questions;
- improving clarity and confidence when speaking;
- identifying weak or vague answers and strengthening them;
- mock interview practice with detailed feedback;
- practical strategies for managing nerves and avoiding panic.

For written applications, I can help students improve structure, clarity, reflection, and presentation while ensuring that the final work remains their own.

I have experience interviewing university applicants and have also completed vaious undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, NHS, and academic applications myself.
