About Rebecca
I am a student in Sustainable Development at the University of Edinburgh, specializing in international development and climate change mitigation. I have also studied art history and social anthropology at degree level. I have 10 A* grades at GCSE, including triple science, English language and literature, fine art and product design, philosophy and geography, with 2 As in French and Maths. I studied Philosophy at AS Level (A), and Fine Art (A*), Politics (A) and English Literature (A*) at A level, and have interests in ecology and earth sciences outside my formal education. I currently work as a national parks ranger for a prominent UK conservation charity, and would love to help others to achieve great results while keeping my brain active!
I can teach a range of subjects at and before GCSE level (ages 16 and below, please contact for details), and can help students with the subjects I myself studied at A level. I can assist students in preparing art, craft and design portfolios for university applications, as my own received four unconditional offers from top-tier UK universities.
I have previously been a tutor for year 7, 8 and 9 students in English and science, and have been a paired reading mentor with developmentally disabled students.

For GCSE material and below, my method is to work through the relevant CGP workbook with the student, focusing on one topic at a time before moving on to a related topic once the first is broadly understood.
I use a mixture of worksheets, online games, and problems which I have devised for students to solve. I will work through these activities with a student, and together we'll work out the best way for them to learn, revise, and retain information. I also encourage independent thinking and a small number of independent study exercises to develop a student's understanding of concepts in more detail and to get the most out of our sessions.
