About Michaela
Hello! I'm Michaela, a PhD scientist with a passion for making science engaging, accessible and enjoyable.
Over the past eight years, I've taught more than 100 students and delivered over 3,500 hours of personalised tuition, supporting learners from GCSE through to university level. Alongside tutoring, I've built my career in biomedical research, spending several years researching brain cancer at the University of Manchester. Working at the forefront of scientific discovery has given me a deep understanding of biology and chemistry that I love bringing into my lessons.
Tutoring has always been far more than a job to me. I believe every student is capable of succeeding when they're taught in a way that works for them. My goal is to help students build confidence, develop genuine understanding and discover that science doesn't have to be intimidating—it can actually be fascinating.
I know that every learner is different, which is why I take the time to understand each student's strengths, challenges and ambitions. Whether you're aiming to pass your exams, achieve top grades, prepare for university or simply feel more confident in class, I'll support you every step of the way with patience, encouragement and a personalised approach.
I'm particularly passionate about making STEM accessible to everyone. Throughout my research career I've worked alongside clinicians, researchers and healthcare professionals to tackle some of the biggest challenges in medicine, and I love showing students how the science they learn in school connects to the real world. My hope is not only to help students achieve fantastic results, but also to inspire curiosity, resilience and a lifelong appreciation for science.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy creating new revision resources, keeping up with the latest scientific discoveries and finding fresh ways to make even the most challenging topics easier to understand. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing a student's confidence grow and watching that moment when everything finally clicks.
