About Allissa
Between my very first internship as an assistant to an orchestra director to my three years of giving language lessons while in France, I am experienced and passionate about helping students of all ages learn and love to learn. Every student has a different style, and I take pleasure in finding out what works best for each individual.

After beginning French at age 11 and living in France for over five years, I am acutely aware of the difference between learning by a book and learning by immersion and practice. My goal with my students is to make them feel like they are not in a classroom, but having a conversation in a real French environment- true immersion.
My specialty is conversation practice - helping figure out the mental blocks that keep students from forming sentences fluently and constructing their thoughts in a coherent manner. My goal is to help them become at ease communicating as easily as they do in English. I also can help with school exercises - reading, writing, and grammar.
