About Roberto
Although my major is in Aerospace Engineering, with a strong base in Physics during the first years (only 5% passing rate!), currently I am graduate student at Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley.
I have been tutoring for more than 8 years students from all ages (from 5 to 20+, middle school to university level). I was lucky to tutor in three different countries (Spain, the Netherlands and Indonesia!), in Maths, Physics, English and Spanish, mainly. In 8 years I tutored more than 15 students, for intensive-short periods of time or year-long couses.
During this 8 years I have tutored Physics in all levels, from the basic motion equations and nature understanding to University Thermodynamics, Dynamics, Stastics, Mechanics etc. in different majors. Furthermore, during the last year I was teaching assistant to two college courses in the Netherlands (TU Delft), which included the preparation of lectures, quizzes, tests and correcting exams. They both related with numerical solving of structures (Mechanics) or heat problems (Thermodynamics).

Specifically in Physics, understanding the nature behind the numbers and equations is utterly important in order to be able to solve problems. So far, I consider my intuitive feeling about physics have helped multiple students to understand what is actually happening behind the paper.
In general, private tutoring, specially one on one has to adapt to the student characteristics. I have always believed that creating a confortable space in which the student is able to try, make mistakes and try again brings the best results. Listening, emotional contact and confidence are key.
