About Sofia
I am a 19-year-old horn player studying Music Education and French Horn Performance at Southern Methodist University. Over the years, I've been selected for and been a part of different Texas All-State ensembles and have been a member of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra. I have had many teachers and mentors who have guided me along my musical journey, and I strive to be an encouraging and supportive teacher just like them. I look forward to teaching my peers and students new skills that will guide them towards achieving their goals!

My teaching approach will first include assessing students' current level and ability, focusing on tone, range, intonation, and music reading skills. I will then strongly encourage effective warm-up routines and etudes that will further impact technique on solos, chamber and large ensemble music, and overall playing skill. I will ensure that students are able to recognize their strengths and weaknesses while playing the horn, and provide the essential resources to help them improve and feel confident in their playing.
