I’m new to tutoring but have some experience in teaching 11 and 12 year olds reading comprehension and basic mathematics, as a volunteer tutor within my school in year 11. I also enjoyed casually helping friends who were struggling with the same subjects as myself at A level.
My approach would be fully adaptable to the students individual strengths and weaknesses and what they wish to achieve. A supportive rather than punitive environment and reward systems that make learning enjoyable have worked best for both myself and people I’ve assisted in the past, but everyone is different.
