About Alexander
I have been giving saxophone lessons for over 35 years. I love helping people learn how to play the kind of music they want to play better. From jazz to pop, Afro-Cuban, and everything in between. Patience is key, and I have lots of it as I love to teach. I can give simple but precise instruction on how to better certain skills that can be evident in a short amount of time and can also provide structure and lessons that can promote growth over longer periods of time. Improvisation, working on a great tone, approaching melody from all kinds of angles, and talking about music are all things I love to do. I've taught people from 12 years on up to elder folk and can tailor my teaching to how a person learns to their specific needs. I love teaching people about this instrument.

I love teaching people of all ages and levels of experience with this instrument. Teaching and showing people about new ways to better one's skills at playing the instrument is as satisfying as playing a great gig or recording session. Taking the time to go over difficult elements pertaining to playing, harmony, technique improvisation, reading music, etc., are all fun skills I really enjoy talking about and sharing my approaches on how to accomplish all these skills and more.
